Child Voice is an audio journal for capturing how your child learns to speak. Record them saying words today, again in six months, and hear how far they've come.
Tap a word from your word list to open it. You'll see a large microphone button — press and hold it while your child speaks, then release to save. Recordings shorter than half a second are discarded automatically, so accidental taps won't create unwanted clips.
From your word list, tap Add a word at the top of the list. Type the word or phrase and tap Add. It will appear at the top of your list immediately.
Yes. From the home screen, tap the + button to add another child profile. Each child has their own independent set of recordings. The shared word list applies to all children, but recordings are kept completely separate per child.
Yes — if you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, your recordings and child profiles are automatically included in your device backup. To check, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Backup.
Important distinction: Child Voice uses iCloud Backup, not iCloud Sync. This means your data is safely backed up and will be restored if you get a new phone, but recordings are stored on one device at a time and are not accessible across multiple devices simultaneously.
Tap any word to open its detail page. All recordings are listed in chronological order, each labeled with your child's age at the time. Tap the play button on any recording to listen.
On the word detail page, swipe left on any recording and tap Delete. This permanently removes the audio file from your device.
Tap the gear icon to open Settings, then swipe left on any word to delete it. Warning: deleting a word permanently removes all recordings associated with it for all children.
Completely. All recordings and child profiles are stored locally on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded to a server, shared with third parties, or collected by us in any way. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
